Description
ACRO Seoul Forest is a high-rise residential and commercial complex located in the heart of Seoul, South Korea. The multi-cultural complex consists of two residential buildings and one office building. The 49-story residential concrete buildings feature a T-shaped plan near the Seoul Forest Park and the Han River, which boast excellent views unfettered by nearby buildings.
The cantilevered facade design applies Korean traditional patterns that meet the functional and creative heritage into a modern design. Due to the special exterior design that maximizes the view effect, residents can look out the natural environment of the Seoul Forest on three sides of the building without interference.
The residential buildings are designed with the concept of a “hundred-year house” which can safely be handed down across multiple generations. To accomplish this, unit plans are designed with minimal columns for easy remodeling so that residents can safely change the indoor space according to their tastes, such as changes in the resident's lifestyle, family composition, and interior taste.
The building consists of 280 household units from the 2nd floor to the 49th floor above ground. To secure privacy from being exposed next door, the windows at the bottom units are shifted in angles. In the case of the lower units below the 20th floor, a green cantilever balcony is installed for a closer view of the Seoul Forest. The ceiling height is 2.9 m, which is 60 cm higher than the 2.3 m height of a general apartment, providing a more comfortable space.
