The Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) connects mainland Cebu from Cebu City to Cordova town in Mactan Island. Project developer Cebu Cordova Link Expressway Corporation (CCLEC), a subsidiary company of Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), envisions CCLEX as not only decongesting traffic in the two existing bridges but also increasing economic activities in Cebu and throughout the Visayas Region.

The role of concrete is palpable regardless of where you stand to look, and proprietary technology advancements were used to complete many of the segments – namely the
launching gantry and the large diameter concrete paver. To manage the 185,000 m of concrete used, this project brought together the greatest minds of multiple disciplines to find solutions to the challenges faced during design and construction. It took into consideration designing around the ongoing local livelihood activities and environmental protection, ensuring lives were enriched and not halted. And in spite of even COVID and Super Typhoon Rai, the project was completed in record time.

The world-class 8.9-kilometer modern toll expressway is Cebu’s newest icon. Built by the Cebu Link Joint Venture composed of ACCIONA Construction Philippines Inc, First Balfour,
and DM Consunji Inc, this infrastructure masterpiece situated in the heart of the country towers its excellence over the pristine Mactan Channel and a symbol one of the most
successful PPP projects.
