Description
Illinois American Water Company hired Crawford, Murphy and Tilly in February 2019 to design two replacement tanks at their raw water intake facility on Chouteau Island in the Mississippi River. The tanks were steel and constructed in 1927. Although they were on the river side of a levee, they were in an offset that protected them from current when the river flooded. The plan was to replace them in-kind with bolted steel tanks.
